Real World Scenario

According to a Forbes article on J.K. Rowling, she had a rough start prior to becoming the world’s richest author (Ward, 2016). Rowling was in the process of writing a book when she lost her mother, lost her new teaching job, and had a failed marriage (Ward, 2016). She was left broke and alone with a newborn baby in England. Once Rowling got back on her feet, she was persistently writing the series and got denied by twelve publishers before signing a deal (Ward, 2016). Despite these setbacks, Rowling still wrote one of the most successful series and never gave up. Even though this example does not specifically relate to interview preparation, this scenario is a reminder that all aspects of our life experiences prepare us for future endeavors. The moral of the story is to continue interviewing with many organizations even when you are told no.
